I'd say it's awesome.

Doumaaa responds:

Hey man, it's been a while, thanks! ;)

Wonderful, as always ^-^

Absolutely lovely. I feel like your relationship with the divine imagination flourishes :) Lots of love!

And please, oh please, drop the choirs all together ; ]

Bosa responds:

NO MORE CHOIR?!?

Merry Christmas! :)

It's a really nice and melancholic track.

Doumaaa responds:

thanks! for the 0! :D jk..

glad you like the song

The song is actually quite splendid :)

As imperfect as it is technically and creatively, it is very nice and wonderfully promising, I think. It's experimental in a sense, it reminds me a bit of some songs of "A Silver Mt Zion" that I listened to lately. I'd definitely encourage you to push more into this direction. This song, in my opinion, asks for more. For at least 4 more minutes, and more lyrics so it could become more epic and fulfilling. I really like vocal experiments. The song would definitely benefitting from percussion (especially from something hi-hats heavy and unpredictable; again, imo), and string quartet for example (or any brass / woodwinds). Some electronics could add to it nicely, as well. It has plenty of space for additions, and, in my mind, I can see it becoming easily twice as worthy as it is now :). As always, good luck!

Doumaaa responds:

I need to check the band you mentioned, never heard of them. Well this isn't really a song I would spend too much time on, I always have songs that I'm working on and then these ones that I just record in an hour or two and they're done. It's pretty hard to add on to them because I usually don't use a metronome on these and leave all the mistakes and everything, so adding drums for instance would be almost impossible. Of course I could add stuff to the song, but time time time and once it's finished and up here then I'm glad it's done and I don't have to work on it anymore :D.. and I can move on..

I have to agree though that unpredictable percussion would fit here :)

This is really experimental, as you mentioned. I'm trying to move into a little more "mainstream" genre and work on those types of songs, but I think these ones will keep on coming anyway. Who knows, maybe I'll stick to this in the end and after all it's probably the most fun part recording these quick out of the blue songs.

Once again, thanks for a great review and rock on!

Big 5/5 for...

...looking for something Yours and unique :) *thumbup*

Xyirx responds:

something "Yours"?

Anyway, thank you so much. :)

5/5

For having fun :]

Doumaaa responds:

Thanks!

A bit like...

...playing on acid :] I like the the higher sounds in the second part of the song, they make me warm and fuzzy inside. Piece of advice, take it or run from it(!), compose when you are dead tired, work on songs when you are at full strenght. Might work miracles. At least that's my bet after listening to your last two songs :) As always, good luck!

Doumaaa responds:

haha thank you for another great review :). I think I'll run from this one :D though my friend heard me playing it and said he'd use the first part somewhere.. so I might get back to it. Yeah sometimes it's strange, when I'm so tired I'd fall asleep at the spot and I take my guitar it suddenly just works and I start playing and getting ideas.. when I have the energy (which isn't that often:) I'm usually too lazy or something else gets in the way..

but I agree it's better to take an idea and work on it rather than just quickly record it and post it.

Thanks again!

Hmmmm...

Around 50 sec mark it gets really nice and juicy :) I'd surely work on this some more, it has potential that hasn't been properly figured out by the composer yet :))

Doumaaa responds:

Hey man, first of all thanks for all of your reviews :)). I just opened my Audacity saves files and found so much unfinished stuff like this that I would love to work on.. time and energy and a bit of laziness are my worst enemies ;)
